The ingenious idea of selling freshly harvested seafood at local farmers markets was brought back to life by my father, Leonard Johnson. Like any true entrepreneur, he noticed the need for freshly cooked seafood at public events throughout the Olympic Peninsula, and since he had a direct connection to the supply, he knew it was time to combine his passion for cooking and customer service. In 2006 Mystery Bay Seafood was born.
In the early days, Leonard sold bbq oysters and steamed clams with melted butter to happy folks walking through the Port Townsend farmers market. Eventually, he expanded his service offerings towards catering and a wide range of events and festivals throughout Western Washington.
As the success of his operation grew, so did his demand. In 2014, Leonard joined the eclectic scene of urban vendors at the Fremont farmers market in Seattle. Soon Leonard was the preferred caterer for many yacht clubs and organizations around the greater Seattle area, include the Center for Wooden Boats.
Today, you will find him selling his popular seafood chowder, grilled salmon sandwiches and seafood linguine at various events from Bellingham to Tacoma, including the iconic Pike Place Market.
His menu has also grown to include a variety of seafood chowders, grilled salmon sandwiches, gourmet ceviche and salmon linguini.
